Emily Rivard, Associate Attorney
Emily is passion about immigration law and finding solutions to complex immigration issues. She believes that each immigrant has a unique story, and enjoys learning about clients in order to provide the best representation possible.
A graduate of Hofstra University School of Law in New York, Emily spent the majority of her law school career dedicated to the study and practice of immigration law. A proud alumna of Hofstra Law’s Political Asylum Clinic, she successfully represented a client through every stage of an asylum application, and her client was ultimately granted asylum. Emily was an active member of Hofstra’s Moot Court Board, and enjoyed competing in several competitions.
Selected to participate in a summer law course in El Paso, Texas, Emily witnessed first-hand immigration and border issues handled by Customs and Border Protection. The following year, she returned to El Paso as a summer intern with the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Emily also interned with the League of Women Voters in New York City, where she was able to use her legal education to help organize grass-roots campaigns that community outreach. The desire to serve the public carried into her career, as she is a diligent volunteer attorney with the Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network (RMIAN). Emily is currently a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and has served as chair of the New Members’ Division.
Emily is proficient in French and loves learning about different cultures. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, learning languages, being outdoors, and reading.
